Dakota Fanning will star the Twilight sequel New Moon, JustJared.com has confirmed.
The 15-year-old actress will play Jane, a sinister vampire with an angelic exterior who works for Italy’s evil Volturi.
“I don’t think they’ll have to put a lot of makeup on me,” Dakota has joked of her complexion. “I’m pretty white already.”
Filming for New Moon will start in Vancouver later this month. The movie hits theaters this November.

I reckon she fits the part really well, cause she's not all goody-goody or disney. she isnt in just little kids films. she was in war of the worlds and in hide and seek. =]

omg! i cant belive it i got the news 2day from a friend, and now its confirmed! i dont think she is that good for the part because the whole time im whatching the movie ill be thinking: oh no! i cant take her seriously, i mean shouldn't she be seeing Babe right now? this is terrible and i wont be able 2 think of her as over 10. this is terrible. no offense 2 anyone but, WHY?!

I'm very upset. Now Twilight is a Dakota Fanning Movie? The origional cast made the film the blockbuster that it is. The spotlight should stay on them ... Not Dakota Fanning, or Drew Barrymore, or any other Hollywood A lister. Why do they always mess with perfection??

I dont think they should be casting famous celebrity actors for new moon it was perfect the way it was in twilight with none of the actors being really known and they should have gotten someone new for jane. fanning is going to mess up the movie i wont be able to take her seriously. this is realllyy reallly bad :(

TO EVERYONE WHO IS SAYING SHE WILL MESS UP THE WHOLE MOVIE U R SOOO WRONG!!! She can be a very serious actress, like she was in War of the Worlds, Hide and Seek, and PUSH. She was very serious in those roles. And this is to brittany and twifan, IT IS SOOOOO NOT GONNA RUIN THE WHOLE MOVIE!!!!!

First of all, shes not bad. I agree with that they should make tha movie out of people that are slightly unknown, but come on Jane isnt even in the entire movie, so until shes on the big screen, dont stress it, damn. It wont mess up shit & If you dont wanna mess up tha movie for yourself walk out of tha theater. Dakota's a great actress &EVEN THOUGH SHE MIGHT MESS UP THE WHOLE MOVIE, dont watch it.
